We asked some of our colleagues, “What does a day in your life look like” and here is what they said…
Every day starts with a big cup of coffee! Then, how can I support my team? Most importantly, how can my team make the day better for our customers? A typical day is organizing workflow, looking after my team and their needs, and assessing reports and data. Oh, and of course, planning, reviewing the plans, adjusting the plans, and perfecting the plans, so that we can execute the best performing registration desk at all our events. The goal is to make the process seamless for each customer. When a customer compliments the team or says registration is easy, it is the best feeling. My role is a multifaceted one as executive editor of District Administration and University Business. My day starts quite early, interacting with my staff writers to determine which stories we will run in our afternoon newsletter as well as in our two dailies, followed by editing and getting them ready to be deployed to subscribers. In between, I work closely with the director of our Leadership Institute as well as our FETC conference team to ideate about events, whether it’s how to make the existing ones even more exciting and useful to our partners, members and attendees or to spin off new ones to really showcase the aspects of ETC that set us apart from our competitorsLori Capullo, Executive Editor

I have the unique opportunity to work with various departments across ETC to develop and improve processes, implement events, and provide strategic input. A day in my life involves working with our vendors to negotiate contracts, sharing creative ideas on how to create an impactful attendee experience, communicating with our sponsors and exhibitors, ensuring we stay on budget, reviewing hotel contracts, and traveling to various locations throughout the year to run our events. A typical day in the office always includes Zoom calls with clients – sometimes early in the morning or into the evening to match up with Europe or APAC. I could do those all day long – I love talking to customers and prospects and finding out about what they do and how our event can help them with their needs.
Of course, there’s also parts of the day that are dedicated to follow up and client maintenance, which isn't as exciting, but is necessary.
